Over the course of history, building processes have progressed to lightning speeds. Did you know at one point it took between two and 10 years to build a castle? And don’t get us started on pyramids. It took 100,000 men 20 years to build the Great Pyramid at Giza.
Obviously, these are grand-scale examples, but the point remains: We have come a long way when it comes to the average time to build a house or other structures.
For the majority of Gunner Roofing clients, they are looking at a home project completion time of one day to a couple of weeks. Subject to work done and size of house, of course!
Generally, there are two types of clients. Clients who have had a planned roof project or some other home exterior renovation on their radar for awhile, and then clients who are facing an emergency (like a roof falling apart). As a roofing, siding, gutter, and window company, it’s our job to prepare for all scenarios.
That is why we meticulously plan our schedule to account for both planned and unplanned projects. Here at Gunner Roofing, we will never leave you high and dry, or should we say wet and rainy since we deal with a lot of leaking roofs? We’ll find a window in scheduling to save the day!
Anyway, back to the client at the center of this blog post – a homeowner in Stamford, Connecticut (in Fairfield County).
He called us regarding a roof replacement. He was having issues and was frankly concerned about the roof’s integrity. Over time, he had noticed things here and there, but upon closer inspection, some things became glaringly obvious – a roof falling apart. At that point, he needed a roof replacement immediately.
Concerned, he called roofing company after roofing company, each one saying that they wouldn’t be able to accommodate him for months for a new roof install. After talking with his neighbors, the Stamford homeowner was given our information, and we were able to accommodate him with our emergency scheduling. (As essentially neighbors, we have done lots of roofing in Stamford, and Fairfield County for that matter.)
Even though this new roof install project fell into the emergency category, it was pretty straightforward. Thankfully, there wasn’t anything unusual or uncovered in the process that would complicate the roof replacement. When that’s the case, it’s an absolute dream to work on.
We were able to get his roof replaced in one day, start to finish. A new roof install can be astonishing if a homeowner starts the day with a roof falling apart and ends the day with a brand-new, jaw-dropping one.
Even though we were just contracted for a roof replacement, the Stamford client happened to mention to our project manager, Nick, that he wasn’t getting proper ventilation from his bathroom fan anymore. Nick knew he had to take a look. That’s just the type of project manager he is, always going beyond for his clients and team. Nick was able to help the homeowner locate the perfect spot to install a new bathroom fan and completely restore proper ventilation in the room.
As for the roof itself, our client went with a GAF asphalt roof in the color charcoal. We know we talk a lot about this color in a lot of blog posts, but it’s for good reason. It’s popular! Not only is it present-day popular, but it’s also considered a classic. Drive through any neighborhood in Connecticut or elsewhere on the upper East Coast and we guarantee you will see many homes with those signature charcoal shingles.
Charcoal shingles are the ultimate choice for the homeowner who wants the exterior of their home to be timeless, and that includes a timeless roof. It really draws attention and gives off clean and classic vibes. And the fact they’re GAF shingles makes it even better.
GAF shingles are the most popular asphalt shingles we install; in fact, GAF shingles are the most popular asphalt shingles in North America. We prefer industry-standard products, plus we are GAF-certified. That means GAF has vetted us to make sure we’re highly qualified, insured, and trustworthy to install their shingles.
GAF shingles bring great durability, color varieties, and warranties at a value price for any budget. GAF shingles deliver.
At the end of the project, our client was thrilled (and likely thankful for his neighbors recommending Gunner). He was also shocked at how quickly we were able to complete the work.
Not only was he impressed with the professional roofing work and the charcoal color roof, but he was sure to mention how appreciative he was of Nick going above and beyond with the bathroom fan. It really helped to have a professional opinion.
We strive to make every project a personalized experience. We always say that we have perfected our protocols here at Gunner Roofing, and when we have projects like this (roof, siding, window, and/or gutter), it really drives that point home. Here was a simple roof replacement that not only ended our Stamford client’s roofing emergency with a one-day charcoal shingles roof installation, but also helped restore proper ventilation with a relocated bathroom fan, a task that was unrelated to the initial job.
We are so thankful for our amazing team for working so hard to give our clients their dream homes in record speed. When we say our team, we don’t mean just the actual roof crew, but our office team as well. If it wasn’t for their intense scrutiny over the scheduling, we would never be able to help as many clients as we do on a regular basis. We’re a complete roofing company, top to bottom.
Constant communication between our team and the homeowners we work with allow for seamless projects from start to finish.
